Indigenous cultural communities (ICC) are faces with increasing migrant encroachment of their areas of traditional land use. The immediate effort is reponse to this issue has been to legally define an area so as to secure a community natural resource base and hence, maintain cultural identity. The Alangan Mangyan is one of seven ethno-linguistic groups in the overall indigenous community of Mangyan in Mindoro.
