15. A Call to Integrate Faith, Ecology, and the World Economy PDF Print
Wednesday, 21 April 2010
ESSC shares this document from Faith, Economy, Ecology, a loose coalition of mostly faith-based organizations and individuals who believe that humanity is being called to radically change its interactions with each other and Earth.

Last November 2009, the group endorsed a founding document "A Call to Integrate Faith, Ecology and the Global Economy"   that called for:

  • A paradigm shift in mindset and values
  • Public policies for an economy of right relationship
  • An economy of thriving and resilient communities
  • Return of corporations to their place in society

It is a document of hope that seeks justice and believes in the human spirit and creativity to take responsibility and innovate. With a respectful recognition of the ecological boundaries and its limits in providing the natural resources needed, the document calls for a shift in economic and development paradigms so that corporations will genuinely serve people and the common good and hold themselves socially and environmentally accountable to the actions and decisions they take.
