2. BAG SIZES. Certain species will require larger bag sizes. If the seedling bags used are too small, this will result in stunted growth of the seedling (as with bonsai trees). Shown in the photos below are seedlings of the same age, but whose sizes are dramatically affected by the bag sizes used.

 


Large (10x12) seedling bags Botong

Small (6x10) seedling bags
Dangkalan, Sampaloc and Caballero
Extra-small seedling bags

3. SUNLIGHT. At the early stages of germination, it will be best to keep the seedlings at the base of a tree (as shown in the photos). Around 4-6 weeks after germination, however, your young seedlings will need more light and should be moved to an area which will allow them around 3-4 hours of direct sunlight per day.
